The Taichung Branch Office, in collaboration with the Taichung City Government Local Tax Bureau, conducted the "Remote Tax Service for Peaceful Li-Shan" program on March 21st and 22nd, 2024, at the Li-Shan Community Office in Heping District. The program aimed to provide convenient services to rural residents. The chiefs of Li-Shan and Ping-Deng communities were invited to act as communication bridges between the branch office and the long-term residents of the Li-Shan area.

Through coordination meetings and on-site service operations, the program facilitated the processing of local taxpayers' affairs, including duty execution, visits to disadvantaged individuals, and anti-corruption education. This comprehensive rural service initiative helped to bridge the gap between the Taichung Branch Office and the local residents. During this event, assistance was provided to 12 taxpayers in arrears, with 7 individuals successfully arranging installment payment plans. The branch office executed tax arrears amounting to over NT$15,000, conducted on-site real estate inspections for 2 cases, and carried out anti-corruption education for 35 people.

Heping District in Taichung City is the only mountainous indigenous area in Taichung, characterized by being the largest administrative district in terms of area, yet having the smallest population and the lowest population density. For residents of the Li-Shan area within this district, traveling to the city center for official business takes at least three hours one way, making such trips highly inconvenient.

To uphold the Administrative Enforcement Agency’s philosophy of balancing "justice and care," the Taichung Branch Office extended its services to the Li-Shan area. This proactive initiative aimed to assist residents in remote areas, providing them with a direct line of communication with judicial and administrative agencies, thereby reducing the travel burden and communication difficulties these residents often face when dealing with official matters.

Moreover, this effort helps prevent fraudulent activities where unscrupulous individuals exploit judicial or administrative documents to defraud residents of their property, thereby enhancing convenience and safeguarding citizens. By establishing a platform for seamless interaction between government agencies and the public, residents can enjoy prompt and convenient integrated services. Additionally, the Taichung Branch Office’s Department of Government Ethics took this opportunity to conduct anti-corruption and integrity promotion activities at the community office, ensuring that the principles of integrity and anti-corruption reach deep into the hearts of rural residents.

Before the Lunar New Year in 2024, the Taichung Branch Office launched a series of outreach activities to support disadvantaged groups. On February 6th, the branch office hosted the innovative "Dadun Justice Market," which featured the 123 Joint Auction and Charity Sale, expanding its charitable efforts.

Following this, on March 21st and 22nd, the branch office, in collaboration with the Taichung City Government Local Tax Bureau, traveled to the Li-Shan area to conduct the "Remote Tax Service for Peaceful Li-Shan" program. This initiative was met with widespread acclaim from the residents of the greater Li-Shan area.

The success of these events underscores the unwavering commitment of administrative enforcement agencies to serve rural residents, regardless of the distance.
