AEA initiates special projects to actively enforce the “penalty cases violating regulations of epidemic prevention”
The COVID-19 epidemic continues to spread domestically. Therefore, AEA contacts the department of health of each municipality, county and city governments initiatively and enhances the enforcement against the public who violates epidemic prevention regulations jointly to make preemptive preparations under the instructions of the Minister of Justice Tsai. From this week, AEA initiates a special project for strong enforcement of the epidemic prevention cases, and actively enforce the penalties of the public who violated regulations of home isolation, home quarantine and self-health management and refused to pay fine.
AEA stated that the epidemic has risen in the state recently. The Central Epidemic Command Center has identified more than 5,000 people requiring home quarantine. In order to face the severe epidemic, all citizens shall take it seriously and follow relevant epidemic prevention measures. AEA will not allow the people who violate the regulations to cause any infection control breach. Recently, there were a few cases reported which showed that some people violate the epidemic prevention policies. In Taichung City, a man who just returned to Taiwan from China violated the home quarantine regulation and went out, and a man in New Taipei City refused to wear a mask in a supermarket. These violations increase the risk of epidemic diffusion. Every branch of AEA will promptly enforce any case related to epidemic prevention regulation violation in accordance with laws, enhance the level of the seizure of deposits, automobiles, and real properties. If necessary, AEA will impose measures such as restriction on leaving the country, arrest or custody to exercise the public power and demonstrate the determination to fully implement the epidemic prevention policies.
AEA held a meeting with all directors of branches on the morning of January 25. During the meeting, the Director-general Ching Tsung, Lin of AEA asked the branches to enforce the penalties against epidemic prevention cases solidly, especially for those malicious violations of epidemic prevention regulations which imposed penalties by health authorities and refused to pay. AEA will not tolerate and will enforce these cases resolutely. On the other hand, AEA also urged that during the coming Chinese New Year, many tourists returning to the country may cause infection control breaches in epidemic prevention. Therefore, all citizens shall jointly follow the epidemic prevention policies to protect the health of all citizens and the epidemic prevention achievement.
